Meet Gill
Gill has been a health care assistant on our inpatient ward for five years.
The favourite part of Gill’s job is that she is “… part of a fabulous team that gives the patients and their families amazing person centred care and support wherever they are on their journey within the inpatient unit, and that we make a difference to help make their journey the best that we can.”
Gill tells us that “an average day is very busy and can be sometimes stressful, sad and happy, emotional in all ways, but as a team we are there to support each other and all involved.”
She is often asked how she copes with sadness and still does her job. “It’s not just about the very end of a patient’s part of their journey. We are also able to help those return home with better support and pain management in place, to continue living their best life that they can. I am grateful that I can help in any way to make someone’s life a little bit better”
