Gift Aid Explained
Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows us to claim 25% more on your donations of goods or money at no extra cost to you – Gift Aid is a simple way to make your donation go further.
If you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate from HMRC.

You can sign up in a way that suits you:
- When donating money
Tick the Gift Aid box when donating online or on a form - When donating goods to our shops

Am I eligible?
You can Gift Aid your donation if:
- You are a UK taxpayer
- You have paid enough Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax to cover your donations
If you donate goods, we’ll write to you annually to confirm the amount before claiming Gift Aid.
What you need to know
- The person donating must be eligible for Gift Aid and must only make a declaration for themselves
- Gift Aid is not eligible for event tickets or purchases
- Donations from companies are not eligible
- Collections from multiple people are not eligible for Gift Aid
If you are a higher-rate taxpayer, you may be able to claim additional tax relief through HMRC.
