Dr Michelle Gallagher: Trustee
Dr Shell Gallagher
Shell is a dedicated general practitioner with a broad clinical portfolio, including experience in primary care, emergency medicine, and remote healthcare delivery.
Originally from Shropshire, Shell entered medicine as a mature student, training at Liverpool University Medical School. Captivated by the region and its communities, she chose to remain in the North West following graduation.
Her current roles reflect her deep commitment to accessible, high-quality care across settings. Shell serves as a hospital-at-home doctor, delivering acute care to patients in the Cheshire West community, and works as a middle-grade doctor in the emergency department at Arrowe Park Hospital, managing a wide range of urgent and emergency presentations. She also regularly practices as a rural GP in remote parts of Scotland, where she provides vital care to underserved populations.
Shell’s diverse clinical experience has shaped her strong advocacy for integrated, compassionate care—particularly at the end of life. She brings this perspective to her role as a trustee of Wirral Hospice St John’s where she champions equitable access, service innovation, and person-centred support for patients and families.
