Offices and other workplaces donating stock for Wirral Hospice charity shops

Ever since the first coronavirus lockdown many people, including business owners, their leaders and their work colleagues have been taking the opportunity, between calls on Zoom/Teams and such-like, to have a really good clear-out at home.

However, being really busy means that they haven’t always had the time to load up their cars and vans to take their pre-loved goods to their local hospice charity shops.

So, Wirral Hospice St John’s are now offering a service to send a van around to businesses and other organisation, on pre-arranged days and times, so that employees can donate their clothing and other accessories in the most convenient way.

Businesses simply request a pack containing Wirral Hospice St John’s stock donation bags. Your team members then fill them with the clothes and other accessories they no longer need, bring them into work and, on the agreed dates, have them taken away to be sorted and sold in the hospice charity shops. (There’s currently a big call on Summer clothes).

The revenue generated by charity shops has been massively affected since the coronavirus regulations came into place so all donations of quality items are greatly appreciated.

Patrick Smith, Retail Development Manager of Wirral Hospice St John’s said:

“As part of our whole Wirral community, businesses play a really important role in helping to fund hospice services. This further collection initiative for companies, of whatever size, allows us to provide a service for them. It helps their team members to recycle used items and we also benefit as we can sell, what are often first class items, to raise funds which maintain our specialist nursing and other hospice care support services. We are so grateful to them all.”

Some of the organisations/workplaces already taking part include Accountability Hoylake, Clatterbridge X-Ray Dept, Finsa UK, Grosvenor Insurance Brokers, Innospec and Inspirations Wholesale. (List is alphabetical and will expand as more businesses sign up).
