Meet the team: Kerry, #Fundraising Co-ordinator for the #Hospice

wirral_hospice_kerryKerry joined our fundraising team at Wirral Hospice St John’s back in Nov 2011. She initially started out by providing general administrative support to our whole team but within a very short space of time she became an integral part of our events and community fundraising programme so these days most of her time is spent working alongside Hayley, our Events Manager,  to support all the various fundraising events and activities that people get involved with to support our work.

Kerry says: “It’s always interesting and I love working directly with our supporters out in the community. Each day is different; one day we can be planning for a dog walk, the next a skydive, the next a coffee morning, a family fun run or a talk at a local school.

Although I thought I knew what the Hospice did, it was only when I joined that I really started to properly understand how important it is to look after people who are very ill and need the specialist nursing care and pain management that our Hospice provides.

When I meet patients and their families it really inspires me in my work to help raise as much money as possible for our Hospice’s work. I love what I do and feel so privileged to be part of such a dynamic and creative local charity.”

We have all kinds of fundraising events coming up over the next few months, details are on our website or you can call Hayley or Kerry on 0151 343 0778 to find out what’s on. Similarly, if you’re interested in organising an event for the Hospice, please call the same number.

As part of her continually developing role within the fundraising team, Kerry is also taking over responsibility for uploading new blog posts and keeping our facebook and twitter accounts updated with the latest information. So you will see and hear a lot more of Kerry from now on!
