Our Heswall charity shop celebrates romantic 1st birthday! #happyvalentinesday

This Valentine’s Day Wirral Hospice St John’s charity shop in Heswall will be celebrating a very special birthday. The shop based on Telegraph Road will be exactly one year old!

Jo Ashworth, Shop Manager, plans to celebrate in style by throwing a party on Thu 14 Feb to thank all the volunteers and customers who have helped support the shop over the last 12 months. Pop in anytime from 11am until 5pm! to join the fun!

Our Heswall charity shop relies on support from the local Heswall community who have supported the shop very generously over the last year by not only donating goods but also by becoming regular and loyal customers. As well as the army of local volunteers that help to run the shop to its high standard.

In the year since opening, the Hospice’s Heswall shop has raised almost £100,000 towards patient care. Wirral hospice St John’s currently looks after around 150 patients per week. This care continues to be completely free of charge for patients. However, the Hospice costs more than £3.1 million to run each year. The Heswall charity shop, as well as the Hospice’s other shops around the Wirral, plays a vital role in reaching this figure.

Jo said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say thank to each and every customer, donor and volunteer for making the last year such a success. I am very proud to manage this shop and to work with a community so passionate about supporting the wonderful care given by Wirral Hospice St John’s. I would like to invite anyone that would wish to attend to join us for a piece of cake and celebratory drink on Thu 14 Feb.”

All items sold in the Heswall shop are kindly donated by people in and around Heswall. Clothing, furniture, ornaments and toys are all accepted on a daily basis.
