Teresa Nightingale joins the Hospice
Published on: 22/08/2012I am thrilled to join the team at Wirral Hospice St John’s as Head of Fundraising. The Hospice has a fantastic reputation in the local community for its specialist care services so I feel very privileged to join such a worthwhile and well-respected charity.
I’m originally from the Wirral and loved growing up here so it’s really lovely to be back after a number of years in other parts of the UK. I am especially appreciating the greenery and the coastal air!
I have joined Wirral Hospice St John’s from a London-based cancer prevention charity, World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK). I was with the charity for more than 11 years and developed my career with them through a number of fundraising and senior management positions.
I am definitely not afraid to get stuck in; anything I ask people to get involved with to support Wirral Hospice St John’s work people can take comfort in the fact that I have been there and done it and will do it all over again and again! Be it running, cycling, bag-packing, collecting, car-booting, walking, climbing, abseiling, caving, dressing up in ridiculous outfits… you name it and I’ll mostly do it!
There’s an amazing fundraising team on board at the Hospice and I’m really looking forward to supporting them and raising as much money as we can for Wirral Hospice St John’s work. I feel very privileged to have joined such an incredible charity that provides specialist care in the heart of the community I grew up in.
I look forward to bringing you updates about our work and upcoming activities, and I hope to meet you in person at some point too!
Best wishes, Teresa
