Young Adult Palliative Care Study Day

Course aims:

  • Overview of young adult services based at Claire House
  • Understand the nuances of Young People receiving Palliative Care.

Target audience

Any healthcare professionals who may see (or have an interest in) Young adults (18-25)

Wednesday 14th October 2026

Duration: 09.00-16.00

Course content

  • Clinical session on Respiratory Support
  • Clinical session on Gastrointestinal Dystonia
  • Parental/Partner perspectives on transition/End of Life Care.
  • Q&A session with Dr Jess McWilliam, CNS Louise Smith and Transition Lead Nurse Andy Curtis – giving the opportunity to trouble shoot tricky scenarios.

Number of places available: 30 places

Cost: £50 per person – lunch and refreshments provided
