Volunteering at Wirral Hospice St John’s

We always convey a HUGE THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers, without whom the hospice would struggle to operate.

In normal times they are simply ‘here’ for us, at the hospice and in our Wirral Community. They’re part of the hospice family, they are, very often in fact, the ‘face’ of the hospice.

Our #hospiceheroes support us in so many ways; from patient and family support; to catering support; to office support; in our charity shops; to gardening; to fundraising support.

Click on any of the boxes above to see what kind of roles may be available in an area you may be interested in.

Volunteers have been involved with Wirral Hospice right from the very beginning, giving their commitment, skills and energy to support our work with patients, their carers and families. You can make a real difference by joining our team of 500 volunteers. We have opportunities based at the hospice and in the community.

Volunteers are usually aged 16 and above. For most volunteering opportunities you do not require particular skills or qualifications as we will give support and training wherever necessary. An enthusiasm for hospice care and a willingness to try new things are often more important.

People from all walks of life and all ages volunteer for us and enjoy great satisfaction in knowing that their time and support is enabling patients and families to receive the care they need.

If you have the time and skills to make a difference by volunteering, please contact Phil or Sarah at volunteering@wirralhospice.org or call 0151 334 2778 and tell us how you can help.

To apply for any of our hospice based volunteering opportunities please download a copy of our application form here and complete and return it by post to:
