Welcome to our Wellbeing Centre

Wirral Hospice St John’s Wellbeing Centre nurtures a happy and relaxed atmosphere.

We prepare people to live their lives outside of the hospice, as well as they possibly can, with their diagnosed condition.

  • Various refreshments, tea/coffee, biscuits, often cake and a nice lunch are provided
  • You can also choose to attend our Evergreen Group* with a family member (while you are within, and after you have finished, your initial eight week referral)
  • If you are staying on the inpatients ward for symptom control or pain management, or even at discharge, you may also be offered Wellbeing Centre services
  • If you become unwell, between visits to the Wellbeing Centre, please contact your GP who remains in primary charge of your health care

*Evergreen Group

  • Patients and their closest relatives and/or carers are encouraged to meet to share their experiences.
  • The group meets while patients are attending the Wellbeing Centre and/or after they have been discharged.
  • Facilitated by hospice professionals, it’s a lively exchange between people of all kinds of experience, often punctuated with laughter, while accommodation is always made for a range of emotions to be expressed.
