Interventional Pain Service
Patients can sometimes experience pain which is resistant to their current medication.
Although most pain will be adequately controlled, sometimes the side effects of other medication can impact the level of pain relief.
The hospice provides an interventional service for the assessment of pain and to discuss and investigate further possible treatments.
Sometimes a further injection will be proposed with all the risks and benefits outlined so you can make an informed decision and then, where appropriate and agreed, treatment administered.
Anybody undertaking hospice services, outpatients, inpatients and wellbeing, can be referred to the Interventional Pain Service by their GP, specialist doctor or nurse.
