Communication Skills Training

Course Aims:

This course is designed to enhance participants’ understanding and confidence in communication skills, particularly in challenging or sensitive situations. By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Define key communication skills.
  • Gain knowledge of the theories underpinning effective communication.
  • Identify and discuss the core skills required to facilitate meaningful and effective communication.
  • Recognise how blocking behaviours can negatively impact conversations and contribute to challenging experiences.
  • Critically reflect on past conversations, identifying both strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Build confidence in applying communication skills in difficult or emotionally charged situations.

  • Wirral NHS Community Trust
  • Wirral St John’s Hospice
  • Wirral Care Homes
