Stock donations for our hospice shops
Each of our shops is able to accept stock donations through its doors. We strongly advise you to call in advance just in case they aren’t ready with enough space for further donations to be made on that day. Our shops are reliant on volunteers supporting us so sometimes sorting donations can take much longer where we have volunteer gaps so your kind understanding will be hugely appreciated!

We kindly request that you donate items in carrier bags, small bin bags or small boxes that can be carried easily by our volunteers.

You may not be aware of this but we are also able to take old clothing items that may not suitable for selling as they can be recycled and raise funds for us that way. Please keep them in a separate bag and mark as ‘rag recycling’. Please note that that does not include duvets and pillows; we are not able to accept those as they can’t be recycled.

Our Gift Shop, at the hospice itself, will remain closed for the foreseeable future.  The space is being used currently as a socially-distanced reception area for our fundraising office. There are no immediate plans for it to be turned back into a Gift Shop at this stage.

Furniture collection service
We are in a position to invite supporters to get in touch if you have larger items of furniture you’d like to donate to our charity:

  • Sofas
  • Lounge furniture
  • Dining tables & Chairs
  • Other large items

* fire safety labels must still be attached to any upholstery items

Please email van@wirralhospice.org with your name, address, daytime contact number, a list of the furniture, and photos of the items. This helps us to assess how many people we need to collect certain items, and also to ensure that the items you’d like to donate are something we can sell via our charity shops. There are times when we occasionally need to politely refuse items if we know they won’t sell or if it would cost our charity money to dispose of them.

Once you email us, we will get back to you as quickly as possible to discuss a realistic timeline for when we might be able to come out to collect items.
