Climb Snowdon

Snowdon at Sunset or Climb Snowdon on a date of your own choice (scroll down the page to see info about this option)

Snowdon at Sunset: 16-17 May 2026

Experience the majesty of Yr Wyddfa at dusk with a guided twilight trek:

  • Yr Wyddfa is the highest peak in Wales and at 1085m / 3560ft high, it’s a tough climb to reach the summit, and just as tough to walk down in the dark
  • Rewarded with tremendous views over the coast and northern Snowdonia from its lofty heights
  • If the cloud obscures the fine views from the summit, as can happen, there is still plenty of exciting mountain terrain to view around
  • We will be led by qualified local mountain leaders from RAW Adventures who will share their enthusiasm and advice with us all the way
  • Each stride up is worth it as we head ever higher into the mountain’s unique, mythical environment full of drama…

Min age of participants is 16 due to the added risk and nature of an event in the dark

Timings:

  • 5.15pm: briefing with mountain leader in Dolbadarn Castle Parc Padam car Park, LLanberis*
  • 5.30pm: latest departure time from Llanberis
  • 9pm: arrival at Yr Wydda summit
  • 9.10pm: sunset
  • 9.30pm: depart Yr Wydda summit
  • 1.15am: arrival back down in Llanberis (depending on speed of walkers)
  • Minibus** back to Wirral Hospice for those travelling with us, approx. return time 3am

*Wirral Hospice will organise a minibus to leave the hospice at 2pm for walkers who will be travelling with us
**Return minibus back to Wirral Hospice will leave once everyone is back down the mountain
