This year’s £50 challenge launched by Reagan. A skilled sewing artist and absolute ‘bundle of energy’

Reagan ready to sew
A heartwarming, “Yaaaaayyy!” is how Reagan expresses her excitement in agreeing to take part in Wirral Hospice St John’s £50 challenge again in 2026.
Following on from her ‘Most Creative Idea Award’ in 2025’s challenge, she is hoping to build on the fantastic £400+ she and her small supportive team at the Silly Goose Foundation raised for the hospice last time.
Reagan is truly remarkable. She was born with Down Syndrome and has always expressed herself with a flair for creativity in art and textiles. She completed a GCSE in Art Textiles last year and is now working towards a level 3 City and Guilds qualification in Art and Design.
Go for it, Reagan!
Ably supported and encouraged by mum, Vicky, and her art teacher, Rachael, she has become something of a celebrity in her own right at her beloved Liverpool Football Club.

Reagan meets Allison Becker
She plays football organised by the Liverpool FC Foundation and was absolutely over the moon when superstar goalkeeper, Allisson Becker, popped into her textile workshop just before last Christmas to see the brilliant work Reagan is achieving at the Silly Goose Foundation and that she’s inspiring other people like her to become involved in.

If you visit the Anfield Hotel on matchdays, they’ve been magnificently supportive, you may see Reagan’s new range of Liverpool FC inspired I-pad bags, with your favourite player’s name and number, in the famous red and white, for sale.
Mum, Vicky’s, support really does go above and beyond especially when she confesses she’s a staunch Evertonian. Haha!

Hospice CEO Helen presents Reagan and teacher Rachael with award
The Hospice’s £50 challenge is a campaign which offers organisations and businesses an initial sum of, erm, fifty pounds for them to invest in something that will ultimately raise more funds for the hospice. In 2026 the challenge is set to run from May to September.

Reagan with teacher, and Liscard charity shop volunteer, Rachael
Some people will buy the ingredients for bake caking and bread making, others have put it towards a brainstorming breakfast for their team where they discuss ideas for the best way to raise funds for the hospice. Businesses have offset some of the cost of hiring a venue for an event, like a dinner or a race night or a host of other fundraising initiatives.
Reagan’s Silly Goose Foundation bought materials for making brilliantly fashionable and useful IPad bags and set about cutting the colourful cloth, sewing them together and lining them with a protective foam textile.
By selling them at only £3 a pop to colleagues, friends and family, and also through our Liscard charity shop where aforementioned teacher, Rachael, is also a volunteer, they made a really nice sum for the hospice.
The plan for Reagan and team for 2026 is to create a new selection of handy, eye-catching, colourful bags and get them in front of even more people to buy. Brilliant!
So, from May onwards, look out for Reagan’s innovative and unique £50 challenge bags and know when you buy one you’ll be making a very welcome and appreciated donation to the hospice.
Thank you so much Reagan and the Silly Goose team! We’re forever grateful.
