Nic and Janine’s brave skydive for the hospice
Published on: 29/04/2025On Saturday 3rd May, our healthcare assistant, Nic Tyson and ward sister, Janine Kavanagh, will be facing their biggest fears… WAAAHHHHHEEEEYYY… before they both jump out of a plane flying at 13,000 feet!
Wowser!
After the initial rush of adrenalin, for about 1,000 feet(!), they’ll feel the upward WHOOOOOOSH as their parachute opens and pulls them upwards, ready for the more steady, but exhilarating, float to the safety of terra firma below.
They’ll be attached to an experienced skydiving instructor so they’ll be guided safely throughout their courageous experience.
It’s still a massive leap of faith to be sitting facing outwards looking at 13,000 feet of air between you, your instructor and those beautiful green fields below.
They are, of course, doing it for our beloved hospice and are hoping to raise some £1,000 between them.
They’re three quarters of the way on Just Giving and you can find a link to their page at https://www.justgiving.com/page/nicola-tyson-1
Enjoy every minute Nic and Janine, with the very best wishes of everyone associated with the hospice with you!
