Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Support
Wirral Hospice St John’s employs a Motor Neurone Disease (MND) key worker within our community services team to support people from diagnosis and throughout their MND journey.
It means there is a single point of contact for advice and access to appropriate health and social care services in Wirral and Ellesmere Port.
Once a person has been referred by The Walton Centre, the MND Association, or a GP, or a specialist or community nurse, Wirral Hospice’s key Worker will make direct contact with them or a family member or other carer to arrange an initial discussion.
Any worries and concerns can be aired and understood and then advice on care, counselling, benefits, housing, equipment and adaptations at home can also be signposted.
Our aim is to build confidence and promote the best quality of life possible, working closely with the MND Association Wirral Group and their trained MND support volunteers.
