Glow with the Flow is a family friendly fun 5k walk around Hoylake. We invite you to dig out your brightest most neon outfits and join in the fun!

Glow with the Flow Disclaimer

We ask all walkers to read the disclaimer below.

By taking part in Glow with the Flow, you agree and confirm that:
You are 18 years of age or older and are taking part in the Glow with Flow walk and any associated activities entirely at your own risk.

If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or the accompanying adult you are with must sign in on your behalf and must always accompany you.

You accept that Wirral Hospice St John’s, their employees, supporters, and volunteers cannot be held responsible for any personal injury, accident, loss, damage or public liability arising from your participation. Any equipment, e.g. mobility scooter/other, that is needed, you use at your own risk, and the hospice will not be responsible for any damage or loss.

You understand that you should be of reasonable health and fitness to participate in the walk and the optional gentle warm-up.

You give permission to Wirral Hospice St John’s to use photographs or video footage of you to raise awareness in publications, online, in the media, and to help publicise future fundraising activities unless clearly stated otherwise.

You will follow all instructions given to you by Wirral Hospice St John’s employees, marshals and volunteers before, during and after the walk to ensure your own safety and the safety of others.

Please see below our list of FAQ’s and useful information.

Who can take part?    

Anyone and everyone! Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Is there parking?

There is plenty of street parking available nearby. If travelling by train, Hoylake is the closest station to the start.

Is there step-free accessibility at The Parade Hoylake Community Centre?

Yes, the community centre is fully accessible via ramps if needed.

Toilet facilities?

Toilet facilities are available at The Parade Hoylake Community Centre. Agreement has kindly been given for walkers to use the toilets at the following pubs during the walk

  • The Green Lodge, CH47 1HW
  • Hoylake Lights, CH47 3BB
  • The Ship Inn, CH47 3BB
  • The Railway. CH47 6AA

What should I wear?

Walkers are encouraged to wear fluorescent, glowing clothing or anything colourful you can find in your wardrobe, with bracelets, etc., to fit in with the theme of the walk. The brighter the better!  Appropriate footwear, i.e. trainers or walking boots and clothing for the weather conditions should be worn.

Will there be refreshments?

Yes! FREE burgers, tortillas and drinks will be available before the walk. Cash donations will be welcomed. There will be free water, squash, and hot drinks at locations along the route.

Will there be merchandise to buy?

Yes, there will be a stall selling glowing items for you to purchase on the night! There will also be lots of “FUN”draising activities to get involved with. Cash and card accepted.

Can I smoke/vape?

No smoking or vaping will be allowed in The Parade Hoylake Community Centre or the attached car park where the event is taking place.

Does the route have street lighting?

Yes, but this is a glow walk, so feel free to bring glow sticks & torches.

Will there be marshals on route?

Yes, marshals will be visible and will be located at points where you need to cross the road. The route will make use of available pedestrian crossings.

Front and rear marshals will also be in position. Walkers will be provided with maps, and there will be signage along the route. If you need assistance at any stage, please approach a marshal or a Wirral Hospice St John’s member of staff.

What if I am taken ill during the walk?

A first aid provider will be available during this event. Anyone taking part in the walk should bring with them any medications they may need.

What if I can no longer take part?

What if it rains on the night?

Not much can put us off going ahead with this walk, but please keep an eye on social media closer to the time for updates. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel, Wirral Hospice will get in touch with all sign-ups by email

Will there be bag storage?

No, you will need to carry all your belongings on the walk, so please pack accordingly.

Do I bring my sponsorship money on the night?

You can, please bring any cash donations clearly labelled with your name and hand it to staff at the registration desk. If you have a Just Giving page, this money will automatically come to us. You can still raise sponsorship after the event. Any questions, please speak to a member of staff.
