In Memory donations

Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a way of celebrating the life of someone special and helps the hospice to continue with the very special care we provide to our patients, their families and carers.

You may want to commemorate a birthday, anniversary or another special occasion in memory of a loved one, or simply to support Wirral Hospice St John’s in their honour.

If you would like to make a donation in memory of your loved one you can post a cheque made payable to Wirral Hospice St Johns with a letter stating your name and address and clearly indicating the name of your loved one.  Donations can be posted to:

Fundraising Office, Wirral Hospice St John’s, Mount Road, Higher Bebington, Wirral, CH63 6JE.

Alternatively, you can set up a Tribute Fund in their memory or make a donation online

Funeral Donations

Often families choose to request donations to the hospice in lieu of flowers at the funeral. If you wish to you can set up an online funeral notice to share the details of your loved one’s service with family and friends. The online funeral notice also provides your family and friends with the opportunity to make a donation in memory. It only takes a few moments to set up an online funeral notice, you can set up a funeral notice online here

We have in memory envelopes that enable us to claim an additional 25% gift aid on each eligible donation in memory of your loved one. These donations also allow us to thank everyone who makes a donation personally.  Contact the fundraising team 0151 343 0778 or email fundraising@wirralhospice.org. Alternatively, you can ask your funeral director.

Cheques can be made payable to Wirral Hospice St John’s and your funeral directors will forward all donations within six weeks to Wirral Hospice St John’s, alternatively, if you would like to drop donations off at the Hospice the Fundraising Office is on the Hospice site and open Monday – Friday 9-5.

You can also make a donation via credit or debit card please call 0151 343 0778 to speak to a member of the Fundraising Team.

Or to make a single donation online please visit our Make a Donation page. To enable us to know who the donation is in memory of please ensure that you state their name while making the donation.

Alternatively, you could set up a Tribute Fund in memory of your loved one. A Tribute Fund is a permanent web page set up in memory of a loved one and is a wonderful way to honour the life of someone special. It is a great thing to share with your family and friends and anyone can contribute to it. It takes just a few minutes to get a Tribute Fund set up online. Once it has been created you can share it with family and friends, upload photos and videos and share thoughts and memories.  You can set up a Tribute Fund online here.

To set up your own fundraising in-memory page please visit Justgiving

Light up a Life

Light up a Life is a special campaign that brings everyone together to remember their loved ones at Christmas time. Each Christmas, 10,000 lights shine brightly from the trees and buildings surrounding the Hospice, each light representing a loved one. We hold a Light up a Life carol service in early December where we gather in the hospice gardens and sing carols, listen to readings and switch on our Christmas lights. Following the switch on service, our Lights are illuminated each evening and early morning up to Christmas and then stay on until the twelfth night. If you would like to dedicate a light in memory of a loved one please call 0151 343 0778 or make a Light up a Life donation online
