Liverpool born and educated, Paul read medicine at Liverpool University before 'emigrating' to the Wirral to work - first in General Medicine, then General Practice for thirty years.
Paul is privileged to have been associated with the Hospice development for almost forty years.
Dr Bev Oates qualified from Birmingham University In 1993 and undertook her specialty training in Mersey Region, including completing a Doctorate of Medicine at Liverpool University. She is a Consultant Physician & Gastroenterologist at Wirral University Teaching Hospital (since 2003) and Clinical Service Lead for Gastroenterology & Endoscopy there. She is Programme Director for Gastroenterology Training in Mersey (since 2007) and National Recruitment Lead for Gastroenterology (since 2009).
Bev joined Wirral Hospice as a Trustee in September 2011 and became Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees in 2015. She cares passionately about high quality palliative care and knows just how important our services are to patients, their families and carers.
Dr Susan Brennan MB ChB MRCGP gained her qualifications in Birmingham University in 1977 and subsequently undertook Post Graduate training in the West Midlands.
Her long career includes the role of Medical Officer for Child Health at Greater Glasgow Health Board, and as a General Practitioner in Newcastle Upon Tyne, West Kirby and latterly at Civic Medical Centre in Bebington.
Now retired, Dr Brennan joined Wirral Hospice as a Trustee in April 2010.
Graham is a Chartered Accountant who has spent all of his working life at Grant Thornton in Liverpool.
Graham joined Wirral Hospice as a Trustee/Treasurer in February 1993.
Having undertaken a 5 year apprenticeship in ladies hairdressing, Annie's hairdressing career lasted 18 years culminating in the opening of her own salon in West Kirby.
She then embarked on a career change, spending 25 years working as a Secretary/Coroners Clerk for the H M Coroner for Wirral.
Now retired, Annie is a Worldwide Crisis Management/Disaster Response Group Team Member, and to date has worked on two major incidents.
Annie joined Wirral Hospice as a Trustee in May 2014.
Chris qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1966, joining Price Waterhouse London that year. He subsequently worked for B P Cow in Slough as Assistant to the Finance Director, before joining Rensburg Stockbrokers (now Investec plc) in 1971 until his retirement in 2002.
Chris joined Wirral Hospice as a Trustee in September 2002.
Marie works for Maxwell Hodge in Heswall where she practices as a Solicitor specialising in Private Client work. She is a member of the Law Society Private Client Section, STEP and Solicitors for the Elderly.
Marie joined Wirral Hospice as a Trustee in October 2014.
Stephen joined the Royal Bank of Scotland in 1961, serving in various positions before moving to the bank's Houston, Texas branch in 1975. Appointments held before returning back to the UK included Senior Vice President for the bank in New York and Executive Vice President (North America). Stephen remained with the Bank of Scotland in a number of senior UK positions up until his retirement.
In 2001 Stephen joined Brabners LLP as Chairman (a position he still holds), and was appointed an Ambassador for Professional Liverpool in 2013. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Liverpool Management School, a member of the Board of Regents at Liverpool Hope University and is an independent member of the Preliminary Investigation Committee of the International Cotton Association.
Stephen joined Wirral Hospice as a Trustee in July 2004.

Phil served as a Deck Officer in the British Merchant Navy for 8 years, moving to shore-based employment in 1974. His career in the shipping industry encompassed management roles in the UK and the Middle East. Latterly, he held Directorships with Norsemerchant Ferries and Norfolk Line Ferries.
Now retired, he joined Wirral Hospice as a Trustee in March 2013.
Steve spent most of his working life with the BBC, moving from programme making into management for the latter 17 years prior to retirement.
His time is now taken up with a range of charitable work which draws on his management experience, and he tries to maintain his operational skills producing the occasional video, as well as sound and lighting work for amateur dramatics and a local folk group.
Steve joined Wirral Hospice as a Trustee in February 2015.
