We are very proud that we have met all the essential CQC standards upon all occasions with no conditions. This means that people who use the services of Wirral Hospice St John’s are experiencing the outcomes relating to all the quality and safety essential standards.
We are regulated, monitored and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure we meet fundamental standards of quality and safety in the care that we provide. As a Hospice, we collect evidence to demonstrate our compliance with these standards.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent body that regulates all health and social care service organisations in England and publishes the findings of their inspections, including performance ratings, to help people choose care.
The CQC makes sure the healthcare that Wirral Hospice provides is safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality.
Wirral Hospice is currently registered with the CQC to provide:
CQC inspections are unannounced. As part of the CQC inspection regime, each organisation will be asked if their services are:
During an inspection, the CQC review the information and arrangements we have in place at Wirral Hospice to better understand the care, treatment and support that is available to our patients, carers and families, and to ensure that our systems support the choices available to those we care for. They also observe how patients, carers and families are being cared for and talk to patients, carers and staff and to other people who use our services.
When the CQC have performed previous unannounced inspections, we are very proud that we have met the standards upon all occasions with no conditions. This means that people who use the services of Wirral Hospice St John’s are experiencing the outcomes relating to all the quality and safety essential standards.
